Battelle@KU

Korean interns working in U.S.

In the first quarter of 2006, the Korea Foundation for International Cooperation of Science and Technology (KICOS) and Battelle initiated an internship program whereby eight scientists from Korea will spend one to two years in Battelle laboratories in the United States. KICOS is providing partial support to the interns, including travel. Battelle is providing support for career development, training, and housing. To date, six interns have been placed and two more are in process of being placed.

The Korean Interns will obtain training and knowledge of Battelle, its technologies and processes in the United States, and may be able to utilize this knowledge and training at Battelle@KU or another laboratory upon their return to Korea.
